INTEREL wins Red Dot Design Award for EOS, the new WiFi thermostat platform

INTEREL has been following a design driven product philosophy since inception more than 10 years ago, owing to its mission of providing best in class user experience for high end luxury hotels. With the learning curve for hotel guests measured in seconds, and demanding expectations of interior designers, operators and end users, INTEREL has been able to build a name for itself with intuitive, globally applicable, and aesthetically appealing user interfaces in the guest room control space.

Philip Santa, INTEREL’s Head of Design said “In EOS we’ve brought together all our experience from designing products for great user experience and we couldn’t be more thrilled that this has now been recognized by the globally renowned Red Dot design award for its product and user experience design.”

“The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year. The design of their products is excellent, in terms of both the aesthetic and the functionality. It’s not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and to win over our jury. Consequently, I want to congratulate the laureates very sincerely on their success,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.

Florian Gallini, INTEREL CEO added “With the launch of EOS, we are now able to apply all of our technology from advanced and highly integrated room controls to a single, very powerful and versatile product. EOS brings high end design and technology to more budget conscious market segments, in both new construction and retrofit applications. It is our first truly global product as it fits the widest electromechanical product requirements. Our team solved a real challenge here.”

On top of its best in class user experience and sleek design, EOS also features a host of technologies under the hood, enabling advanced energy management as well as Internet of Things driven applications built on top of INTEREL OS, powered by built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ZigBee radios as well as a variety of environmental sensors. This provides a number of benefits for customers through decreased CapEx needs, a simplified infrastructure, optimized operation, and a reduced environmental impact. INTEREL’s smart building offerings are now available to new verticals such as student housing and residential multi dwelling units.
